Event Details

Date: September 8-10, 2006
Place: Burke Mountain Campground at East Burke, VT

What's this all about?
It's a summit. A gathering. A whole bunch of 29er loving folks riding tasty Vermont singletrack, drinking fine Vermont beer and enjoying the last dregs of summer.

Interesting. What's the Schedule?
Friday, Sept. 8: Arrivals, camp set-up, some afternoon riding. Bike29 will be boiling up a pasta feed.
Saturday, Sept 9: Hook up with your 29er brothers and sisters for informal group rides on the Kingdom Trails. At the end of the day, head over to Burke Mountain Campground for the Bike29 Weenie Roast. We'll be burning lots of meat and soy products. There'll be beer and bragging, 12" wheel bike downhill races and a raffle for 29er schwag.
Sunday, Sept 10: Start your day with some notorious Bike29 french press coffee and then head out for one final ride before packing up and heading home.

I wanna come. Tell me more.
Cool. rsvp to george@bike29.com to ensure that we have enough weenies for the roast. We have about 7 lean-to sites reserved at the campground, let us know if you'd like space at one or call and reserve one of the non-lean-to sites. If camping isn't your thing, East Burke has many B&B's and Inns to choose from. Check out the Kingdom Trails Website for more options.

Trail passes are $10 per day or $35 for a season membership. Support these guys, they're doing great things for mountain biking and for the area.

Meat-up t-shirts will be available for $12 - watch for more info.

I hope that this will be a good turn out. While we aren't officially leading any group rides, there will be plenty of opportunity to ride with new people, and exchange ideas and experiences with them. There are plenty of bike festivals out there, but not one of them is dedicated to the 29er. It is my sincere hope that this event will become an annual one.
And I would like it to be huge.
